Noah Baron

Noah is the Assistant Director of Litigation at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, where he uses litigation to protect and advance the civil rights of Asian Americans and to promote a fairer society for all. Noah brings a broad background in civil rights litigation, with particular expertise in the Voting Rights Act, the First Amendment, and the Fourteenth Amendment. 

Before joining Advancing Justice | AAJC, Noah was a Litigation Associate at Elias Law Group, where he represented nonprofit organizations, labor unions, and individuals to protect their rights of freedom of association and speech and their right to vote. Previously, Noah was the 2019-2021 Jerry Shestack Justice Fellow and Counsel at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. While there, he led an investigation of the disparate impact of facial recognition technology, played a key role in lawsuits against President Trump and others for their roles in violence against protesters and in the events of January 6, and assisted on almost a dozen amicus briefs addressing issues ranging from criminal sentencing to digital discrimination.  

Noah also worked as an associate at the California Civil Rights Law Group, where he represented dozens of victims of discrimination in employment and public accommodations. He worked at both the trial and appellate level, including briefing and arguing before the Ninth Circuit, to get justice for his clients.

Noah began his legal career as an Associate Attorney General with the District of Columbia Office of the Solicitor General. Prior to law school, he worked as a Legislative Assistant at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. 

He is a graduate of Columbia University and of Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as the editor-in-chief of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.  

He lives in Washington, D.C., with his husband and dog.
